Hello from the desk of Emily Long, program manager.

Things are definitely heating up here in the office in the lead-up to Mountainfilm (a short six weeks to go), and I’m going to start posting small (and large!) up-to-the-minute programming updates as they happen.

You might have noticed that a preliminary list of films has already been posted on our film page here.

The final film list should be up soon!

In the meantime, we were very excited to confirm Pete Takeda as a festival guest. The summary of his new book, An Eye at the Top of the World, reads like fiction, but it’s true fact! It talks about a “CIA-recruited team of elite American and Indian mountaineers” who were spying on the Chinese early in the Cold War, a missing James Bond-like radioactive plutonium sensor and a new expedition to uncover the secrets high in the Indian Himalayas.

Pete Takeda will be at Mountainfilm doing a presentation on his book. But check this out…a movie trailer?? Produced by the guys at Rattle Can Films
